What is a Wingmate?
A Wingmate is your personal AI assistant on Violet Dragonfly, tailored to a Companion's knowledge, a wingmate in the aviation sense of the word. The name says it all: a wingmate doesn't fly for you, they fly beside you. They support and lend a hand, stabilise your course and keep your head clear when things get hectic, a sparring partner, not a replacement for your own judgment or for the human Companion who can always take over.
What's the difference between end users and Companions?
End users are the companies and individuals who draw on the expertise of specialists, they can get started directly and for free. Companions are the providers of that expertise: consulting and training businesses that curate, configure and monetise their knowledge through the platform. What are Wingbeats?
Wingbeats are the Violet Dragonfly platform's billing unit for AI and human interaction, you pay for outcomes, not time. Every account gets a free daily top-up; additional Wingbeats can be added depending on the plan. You can transparently check a query's Wingbeat cost inside the system at any time, before you submit a query or need to buy an additional package.
How do I earn as a Companion: by the hour, or by outcome?
On Violet Dragonfly, what counts is the outcome of your work with the AI, not the time you put in, your earnings come from real human expertise, with no classic hourly billing. For many Companions, this starts as a side business: as a digital coach for training, a companion for projects, or to improve internal knowledge management, for example during employee onboarding, or to avoid disruptions to workflow by delegating to the AI, without losing the ability to take back control at the right moment.
How much does it cost?
For end users, getting started is free: every account is automatically topped up with Wingbeats every day. If that's not enough, additional Wingbeat packages can be purchased directly, or provided by a Companion, for example as part of a training programme or consulting mandate. For Companions, plans range from Starter through Professional to Unlimited (on request), billed monthly or annually with 33% off. What's the difference to NotebookLM or other AI tools?
A Companion's internal knowledge is factored into every answer, combined with the end user's own documents. There's always the option of explicit verification with a real specialist, a smooth transition between digital communication and expert contact.
Where is my data stored, and is it used to train AI models?
All information is processed by vetted platforms that meet ISO 27001 certification and GDPR requirements. No end-user or Companion data is used to train AI models.
